12:11 12 March in Kitchen and Bathroom Ideas

We have snuggled up indoors all winter and done the daydreaming of new beginnings so as we welcome the spring its natural to think of updating our homes.

It could be simply a change of colour in the kitchen together with new window blind to freshen things up or you might be lucky enough to be going the whole hog and planning that new kitchen you’ve always wanted. How exciting!!

What style of kitchen units do you want and what colour, with what handles and what worktops?  Do you like tiles on the wall and floor or is it to be glass splash backs and a wooden floor. There are a lot of ceramic tiles on the market now which have the look of wooden floors.

Will you have marble, quartz or granite worktops or just reliable and cost effective laminate.

We often forget to pay much attention to the humble cooker hood, this in fact is a kitchen hero, ridding the air of grease, steam and odours. These days they are far more sophisticated with many options to suit all kinds of kitchens – including designs which disappear when not in use. Plasma is said to be the next big thing.  It’s said to be better at removing odours and bacteria than the usual combo of grease and charcoal filters.

There are even induction hobs that connect wirelessly to their extractors. When you turn on the hob, the hood kicks in automatically and its extraction increases as you turn up the heat – now that is clever!

The first thing to decide is the budget, this will be the biggest dictator of the many things to consider when planning your new kitchen. These days there are so many manufacturers and they all cater to differing budgets.

We at mint INTERIORS are happy to discuss all these options with you.
